Aldo Lipari’s journey began in Somalia, where he spent his early years before moving to Italy in his late teens. His life took a transformative turn when he joined the Italian Navy, serving eight years, including five in its elite commando unit, the Arditi Incursori Marina—Italy’s equivalent of the U.S. Navy SEALs.
This experience shaped Lipari’s character in profound ways. “It’s definitely one of the most difficult things on earth,” he reflects. “You never stop training—diving in freezing seas for hours in the middle of the night, parachuting, combat training… After an experience like that, you can overcome anything. Nothing will ever be as hard as what you’ve already made it through.”
The discipline, resilience, and attention to detail he honed in the special forces became the foundation of his entrepreneurial spirit and his approach to building ALODD.
A Career in Luxury: From Stockroom to CEO
Lipari’s professional journey is a testament to his dedication and expertise in the luxury fashion industry. Starting from the stockroom of Benetton in London, he worked his way up to leadership roles with iconic brands like Giorgio Armani and Gucci. His career reached new heights when he joined Bally, where he served as CEO for Southeast Asia and Oceania from 2009 to 2014, after managing operations in Australia, New Zealand, and Italy.
With over 38 years of experience in luxury retail and men’s fashion, Lipari understands every aspect of the business. “I’m not afraid of risk or challenges,” he says. “That ties in with the entrepreneurial spirit. I know every aspect of the business, from the ground up.”

Lipari’s deep connection to the Asia-Pacific region, where he spent over a decade leading Bally’s operations, has profoundly influenced ALODD’s design and ethos. “I’m very much at home in the Asia-Pacific region and understand what the customer here wants, as well as the climate and lifestyle demands,” he explains.
